Abstract

The limited understanding of housewives regarding the use of daily household activities as mathematics learning media has caused early childhood mathematical literacy to develop less optimally. Based on interviews conducted on January 2, 2026, in Desa Bandar Hapinis, contextual learning training based on household activities had never previously been implemented in the village. This community service activity aimed to improve housewives’ understanding and skills in fostering early childhood mathematical literacy through everyday activities. The program was conducted for three days involving 25 housewives. The implementation method used a participatory approach through lectures, demonstrations, direct practice, discussions, observations, interviews, documentation, and participant response questionnaires. The results showed that participants’ involvement and enthusiasm were very high, with an average observation score of 18.4 and questionnaire score of 19.0 categorized as very good. Participants were able to understand and apply household activities as media for children’s numeracy learning. This training demonstrates that family-based contextual learning effectively increases parental awareness and involvement in developing early childhood mathematical literacy.
